A Loving Tribute to Dalton Van Becker Dalton Van Becker, a respected husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on January 9, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Dalton Becker and Lynda Humphreys. From a young age, Van liked to be right and give everyone else the opportunity to be right also. Truth and challenge marked Van’s character and his deep love for family emboldened it. He spent countless hours helping and serving his family to be a strong man for all that needed him. Van was deeply engaged in the Boy Scouts during his youth, where he cultivated a passion for serving others and the community. He developed grit in the trenches of the Warrenton High School Football Team and developed his mind at the University of Missouri, earning his bachelor's degree at the St. Louis campus and completing his master's at the Columbia campus after graduating from high school. Finally, through his faith in Jesus Christ, his heart and soul were shaped for grace and redemption. Following his first career as an educational trainer for New Horizons in California, Van’s passion for others led to a fulfilling second career as a Personal Trainer. He sought to help others live fulfilling lives in their God given bodies. Through blood, sweat, and tears, Van became a pillar of wisdom and good character in the fitness community. Those who knew Van will remember him for his dedication to bettering others’ lives and sacrificing himself to help when needed. Additionally, often conversations with Van would be marked by the cherishment of his children, Zackary and MacKenzie Becker. He played an active role in their lives and the lives of the entire family. Van was the kindest, most loving, and caring man around. His firm presence and tender love were always to the benefit of others. He was a soul that loved deeply and without reservation. Van is survived by his wife, Connie, whom he loved dearly and was his best friend; his mother, Lynda Hutcheson Humphreys; his sister, April; and his children, Zackary and Mackenzie Becker. He is also survived by his stepfamily, including stepchildren Christy, Angie, Troy, Joshua, and Samantha, as well as his Parents-in-law, Samuel and Wilberta Powell. Papa Van’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his fifteen grandchildren and the precious grandbaby Becker, due in May; his nine nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous cherished cousins and dear friends. Van was preceded in death by his father, Dalton Van Becker, and his brother, Jeffrey Becker. A Celebration of Life will be held this spring, with a private spreading of ashes in the fall. The family thanks everyone for their love, prayers, and cherished memories of Van.
