Della Mae Hunt

Della Mae Hunt Age 92 of Black Jack, MO. Della Mae Route was the last of her parent’s children, born September 13, 1927. Della confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joyfully served Him all the days of her life. She diligently served in the Willing Workers Ministry and as Superintendent of Sunday School at North Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She found great joy planning and organizing the Church’s Annual Black History, Easter, and Christmas Programs; as well as, Vacation Bible School, and the annual Hallelujah Party. She poured into many children and their families while planting God’s word into them. In her later years, she joined fellowship with Go 2 Grow Ministry and served in the Communion Ministry. Della married Casper Hunt and to this union 3 children were born. Della was a humanitarian at heart! Visiting the sick and giving to the less fortunate was common place in her personal and professional life. As a caseworker with Yateman Health Center, she advocated for care and resources for those in need. Della was fun-loving and enjoyed being surrounded by family! She supported her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great -great grandchildren any way she could. She had a hand in raising 4 generations! A true matriarch, she instilled Christian values and kept the family covered in prayer. She was engaged in everyone’s life and always had an encouraging word to keep you motivated. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her sisters, niece, and nephew! She often organized annual bus trips across the country. Della touched the lives of many and leaves a rich legacy for her family to carry forward. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, multiple generations of nieces, nephews and cousins; her church family, and many close friends. Della believed in education and would give her last to help see her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren receive their education and have everything they need including “pocket money” to attend school.
