She was 66 years old. Born and raised in Jesup, Georgia — where magnolias bloom and neighbors greet you by name — Kim grew up in the gentle rhythm of small-town life, where family means everything and faith runs deep. Those roots shaped a woman of steadfast heart and boundless kindness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Irene Shaw. Kim’s life journey carried her far from home — across oceans and continents — as a devoted military spouse. From Italy to Germany to Switzerland, she created warmth and belonging wherever she went, carrying grace, laughter, and faith in her suitcase. Through every change and challenge, she lovingly raised three children and kept the Harrison family bound together by prayer, devotion, and unshakable love. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 45 years, Walt Mutota, and a deeply loving mother to her children, Kim Hopson, Walter Harrison, and Matthew Harrison — her life’s greatest joy and proudest calling. To her children, she was more than a mother; she was their encourager, their refuge, and their fiercest believer. Her happiness was found in cheering them on, lifting them up in prayer, and watching them grow into the people God designed them to be. At the heart of Kim’s life was her abiding love for Jesus Christ. Her faith was not only spoken but lived — quietly, faithfully, and joyfully — in every act of kindness, every whispered prayer, and every moment of grace. Her well-worn Bible told the story of a life anchored in God’s word, while her countless prayers wrapped around family, friends, and even strangers she had never met. Kim gave selflessly — not because life was easy, but because she believed love was always worth the giving. She made people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved, reflecting the compassion that defined her spirit. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle strength, and her fierce love for her family. Her legacy shines through the hearts she touched, the lives she blessed, and the quiet example she set of walking humbly with God and serving with joy. Kim is lovingly remembered by her husband, Walt Mutota; her children, Kim Hopson, Walter Harrison, and Matthew Harrison; her brother, Daniel Shaw; and her aunt, Regina Darby. Her love continues through her cherished grandchildren — August Harrison, Gabriela Hopson, and Elizabeth Harrison — as well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 16th at 3 PM in St. Louis, Missouri, where friends and loved ones are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for a life so beautifully lived for God’s glory. The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this time.
