Sheila Katherine Parrish

Sheila Katherine Parrish, 79, of Hazelwood, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, June 27, 2026, after courageously battling health challenges for more than 20 years. Throughout those years, Sheila demonstrated remarkable strength, grace, and determination, inspiring everyone who knew her. More than anything, she was the heart of her family—the peacemaker who always brought everyone together with love, compassion, and understanding. Sheila was born on May 18, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Montgomery; her brother, Edward Montgomery; and her sister, Linda Abbot. She leaves behind the love of her life and devoted husband of 59 years, Truman Parrish. Together they built a home centered on love, laughter, faith, and family. Sheila is also survived by her children: Shane (Amy) Parrish, Lindsay Parrish, Bo (Erin) Norris, and Tyke (Heather) Parrish. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Madison (Ryan) Saldaña, Marlee Parrish, Mia Parrish, Ashley Richardson,Layla Norris, Isabella Norris, River Parrish, and Emma Parrish. Just four days after Sheila’s passing, on July 1, 2026, her first great-granddaughter, Ella Saldaña, was born. Although Sheila never had the opportunity to hold Ella in her arms, her family finds comfort in knowing that Ella will grow up hearing stories of the remarkable woman whose strength, kindness, and unconditional love helped shape generations. Sheila dedicated many years of service as a secretary at McNair Elementary School, where she formed lasting friendships and supported students, teachers, and staff with kindness and dedication. As her children grew, she followed them to Hazelwood West High School, continuing her career there before later working for Express Scripts until her retirement. Outside of work, Sheila had a true gift for making a house feel like home. She had a remarkable green thumb and took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens, which reflected her patience, care, and appreciation for life’s beauty. She was also an exceptional cook whose homemade meals became the centerpiece of countless family gatherings. Her talents in the kitchen perfectly complemented Truman’s passion for outdoor cooking, and together they created cherished memories around the table filled with delicious food, laughter, and love. Above all else, Sheila treasured her family. Whether hosting holidays, celebrating birthdays, or simply enjoying an ordinary evening together, she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, and she had an extraordinary ability to make people feel loved, valued, and at peace. Her quiet strength, gentle wisdom, and unwavering devotion held her family together through both joyful and difficult times. Sheila’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and unconditional love. While her family grieves her passing, they also celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life defined not by the challenges she faced, but by the love she freely gave to everyone around her. Her memory will live on in every flower that blooms, every family meal shared, every laugh around the table, and in the generations that follow. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, 920 Lindsay Lane, Florissant, Missouri 63031. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
