Tyrus Dimitrit McGhee "Dimitri" Age 50. Florissant, Missouri. Son of the Late Tyrus A. and Shirley A. McGhee; Father of Carmalene Lashe' Jackson and Tamika Shaunde' McGhee; Grandfather of Quintel LaReese Harris, Carmella Loraine Harris and Leyla Theresa-Louise Jackson; Brother of Douglas (Kris) McGhee, Kenneth (Sharon) McGhee, Illya (Dennis) Payne, Samantha McGhee, Charles (Amanda) McGhee and Wanda (Jerry) Thomas. Step-father of Daniel Harrison (Tamara L.) Brown and Deanna Kay (Willie II) Rice; Uncle to Lynn, Brittiany, Emily, Alexia,Tevar, Blair, Mikala, Courtney, Taylor, Brendan, Justin, Maxcine, Peyton, Nina, Ethan, Austin, Ty, Charlye and Gracie. Dear Nephew, Great Uncle, Step-grandfather, Dear Cousin, Relative and Friend to many. Tyrus or known as "Dimitri", was born November 28, 1962 in East St. Louis, IL. He was educated in the Hazelwood School District (McNair and Hazelwood West High School). In his early years he enjoyed riding his bicycles and jumping home made ramps like Evel Knievel, wearing his black leather jackets and jeans, romping through the local creeks and woods and listening to all kinds of music although he mostly preferred Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Bob Marley and many other great guitarist and blues musicians. Tyrus also enjoyed playing his guitar. He also played sports with FAA at Wiethaupt Fields in Florissant. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served for over 16 years with tours in many countries including Germany, Korea and in Iraq during the Gulf War-Desert Storm. He was employed by the VA Medical Center. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren for they were the apples of his eyes. He liked to read and he had many friends and could sit down with anyone, anywhere and strike up a conversation about anything. He was a very likable person and had a good heart and was always in your corner if you would let him be. He could be comical about serious things, as well as very serious about comical things. He was definitely a one of a kind human being. He most importantly was a Christian that accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour at an early age and he led many others to Jesus Christ also.
