Carl Thomas Stevens

Born to Melvin and Carolyn Stevens in St Louis, Missouri on the eighth of March, 1962, Carl had a lively childhood. He collected eggs from his family’s 15,000 laying chickens and spent his earnings on motorcycles and classic cars. His passion for all things mechanical started in elementary school. As noted by his fifth grade teacher, “Carl often wastes time tinkering with junk at his desk.” Carl graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School in 1980. After coming to Jesus in his early 20s, Carl dedicated his life to spreading the gospel to those who have not heard the good news. Carl attended Saint Louis Christian College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and met his wife, Ronalyn (Tate) Stevens. Together, they embarked to the mission field of Zaire, Africa with African Christian Mission (ACM). They worked there for 8 years. After a series of evacuations due to instability in the region, they returned to the U.S. where Carl obtained his Aircraft and Powerplant license and his private pilot’s license. He and Ronalyn and their kids then moved to Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines to serve as missionaries there. In both the Philippines and the U.S., Carl used his passion for motorcycles to engage with biker communities. He was part of the Tuguegarao TYGERS and a founding member of the Faithful Few Motorcycle Ministry in St. Louis. Since his cancer diagnosis in late 2024, he spent as much time as possible making meaningful memories with family and friends during chemo and radiation treatment. He found joy in riding, fishing, building aquariums, and tinkering with RC cars alongside his preaching and mentorship ministries. He especially enjoyed learning the finer points of Minecraft from his grandson, Grayson. Carl is survived by his loving wife and life-long partner in the ministry, Ronalyn, his parents, Melvin and Carolyn, his children, Naomi (Stephen), Nathan (Natalie), Rachel (Jonathan), and Caleb, his grandson, Grayson, as well as his sister Laura (Gary), brother Victor (Erica), many nieces and nephews, and three great-nephews. Friends and family are invited to gather at Joshua House, 7214 Willow Ln, Hazelwood, Missouri on the thirteenth of June at one o’clock. Those wishing to make a lasting contribution to Carl’s memory are invited to donate to the Stevens Family account with ACMI to enable the completion of construction that Carl and Ronalyn began on a Christian Aviation and Radio Mission staff house in the Philippines.
