Janice Hall Coleman-Batiste

Well Done Good and Faithful Servant Janice Hall Coleman-Batiste age 69 of Florissant, Missouri, was the second of six children born to Hollis Hall and Olivia Green Hall on July 8, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri. Janice attended the St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School in 1967. She gave her life to Christ at the age of 18. She was baptized at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, where she was a member for many years. She continued her Christian journey as a faithful member at St. Angela Merici Parish until her homegoing on October 4, 2017. She enrolled at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1968. In the Fall of 1969, she pledged the Alpha Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, ‘USS Trifling 28.’ She graduated from Lincoln University with a degree in Home Economics in 1972. Janice loved working with children, and this sparked her desire to become a teacher. In the Fall of 1972, she launched her teaching career in Home Economics at Beaumont High School within the St. Louis Public Schools District. While working full-time and raising a young family, she set her sights on graduate school. She attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and graduated with her Masters in Counseling in 1978. Janice retired from teaching in 2004 and she began to embark on new social, civic and community adventures. She joined the ‘Busy Bee’ Red Hatters, took dance classes at Florissant Valley Community College and volunteered with President Barack H. Obama’s campaign. She is survived by her devoted husband Rudy; daughter Jennifer Coleman; son and daughter in law Mr. & Mrs. Ronald E. Coleman Jr. and a host of beloved family and friends.
