Kenneth Parker West

Kenneth "Ken / Kenny" Parker West of St. Charles, Missouri, at the age of 75, passed away peacefully doing what he loved best on May 26th 2023.. He was sitting on his porch watching the sun set. Listening to his music with a drink, enjoying a cigar. and peacefully took a nap. Loving and devoted Dad, brother, papa and great papa. Ken's death was preceded by his parents Silas Howard and Mary Imogene West. Grandson "PJ" Parker Levi, his wife Iva West. Survived by daughters Angie (Dan) West Mckenna, Michele (Jeff) Lee. Grandchildren Alexis (Jacob) Worth, Drake Guzman, Shelbi (fiancé' Tommy Komnick) West, Jesse Lee, Jayshawn Ross, Great daughter Oakleigh Brin. His wife Iva's children Michael (Jenny) Aumann, Angie (Kirk) Brown, Carla (John) Sherman, Cindy (Tim) Gidden. Their grandchildren Jordan (Andrew) Leas, Jakob (Taylor Schaffer) Aumann, Caleb (Samantha ) Pitman, Owen Aumann. Sierra Brown, Caleb Brown, Dustin Brown, Dakota Wiley, Kylie Pigg, Maddy Gidden, Braylen Gidden. Nikki Watson, Alex Bourbon, Maddie Neisen (Thad), Abby Sherman, Christopher Sherman. Great grandchildren Caleb Jr Pittman, Parker and Macklyn Harris. Brothers, Ronald (Sandra) West, Randy (Debby) West, sister, Mary Etta (Steve) Dye. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and life long friends.. He spent the beginning of his life in Jewett Mo, as a child the family then moved to St. Louis where he met his first wife Karen Hoover and graduated high school from Central high class of 67.He has remained friends with so many since then... He spent years working as a fire fighter for Olivette fire department. He actually was the first person to use the "Jaws of life"., eventually moving onto Unitog / Cintas from which he retired. After he married Iva, the two of them worked for the Fox Theater . He continued working there till the end. He truly enjoyed that job because he is such a social butterfly. Other actives during his lifetime that he enjoyed includes him riding his Harley with his group called SDMFTRH MC / NC. He was known as one of the three wiseman. Later in life he traded his Harley for a golf cart to which he named Spirit. Then it expanded into more friendships made in a group called The St. Charles Golf Cart Community. He loved spending time in the country with family and friends. He was such a handworker, he never sat still and continued to do so many things from gardening, yardwork, working on the house etc. He had the best ideas also, we always called it redneck resourcefulness, because he could make something out of nothing and it would work. He loved his dog Monty whole heartedly and later missed him dearly.. He was a great cook and excellent griller. Enjoyed his porch, music and sunsets. He loved finding things in the clouds. He loved all his siblings, and extended family with all his heart. Very sociable of a man he was, to which he has a million friends. and most he loved as family. If you were a friend you were family... He loved spending time with folks, having a beer and just talking. Never knew a stranger. He was grounded in his roots, but not in his mind. Was always so supportive of everything his family did,. he was our rock.. He will not only be missed but he will leave a void in so many lives. He left us was too soon and way before any of us were ready. Some things, are beyond our control or as he would say "It is what it is" Saturday, June 24th 2023 Memorial gathering 10:am - 12:00pm Service 12:00pm at Archway Followed by What dad wanted, a New Orleans style send off.
