Lacy Thomas

Lacy Thomas Age 71 of St. Louis, MO. Mr. Lacy O’Neal Thomas was called to glory on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Christian Northeast Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. He was born March 3, 1943 in Gould, Arkansas to Arthur and Maleda Thomas who both preceded him in death. As a small child, his family relocated to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he attended the Pine Bluff, Arkansas public school system. Lacy graduated from Coleman High School in 1962. Lacy moved to St Louis, MO where he was employed at Hunter Packing Company for 19 years. He met and married the love of his life Josie B. Clark on March 12, 1964. This blessed union lasted 50 years! To this union was born four sons Stephan Thomas, Vaughn Thomas, Corey Thomas (LaTonya), Bryan and one daughter Melodi (who was his princess). Once Hunter Packing Company closed in 1981, Lacy became employed with Korte Construction, where he worked as a construction laborer for twenty years until he retired in 2003. Lacy received Christ as his personal savior in 1994 and became a faithful devoted servant. He became a member at Evangelist Center COGIC. He was a faithful deacon and prayer warrior. Deacon Lacy worked with the food pantry and he never refused to help anyone who needed him. Deacon Lacy was a man of few words, but when he had something to say, it had great value. He loved traveling and eating “good” food. As a matter of fact, in his last hours, he requested a steak and one more piece of pie. He also loved fishing, gardening, and always had a well-kept lawn. He leaves to mourn his wife Josie B. Thomas, four sons, Stephan Thomas, Vaughn Thomas, Corey Thomas (LaTonya), Bryan Thomas and one daughter Melodi Thomas (who was his princess), nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Arthur J. Thomas of Dallas, TX, six sisters, Doris L.Barnes, Lillie (Charles) McKinney Fort Myers, Florida, Myrtle Curry, Gwendolyn (Donald) Crabb of Pine Bluff, AR, Eunice (Reverend John) Harris of Jefferson City, MO, Maxine Davis of Flint, Michigan, seven sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deacon Lacy Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Maleda Thomas, two brothers Marshall R Thomas, Willard H. Thomas, and one sister Pearlie Mae Humphrey and one grandson Bryan Thomas Jr.
